"All succulent rounds of her feminine curves bobbling cheerfully" very 'she breasted boobily'😔
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
- convoluted yet empty story
- unnecessary dual pov
- strange storytelling flow
- unrealistic depiction of how drug trade and the 'mafia' works
- the author's writing capabilities leave a lot to wish for the wording is extremely repetitive and sometimes very singular (probably due to the lack of an editor/good editing?)
- the female narrator is stiff to the point of sounding robotic especially her reading of the male voice or anything accented is horrendous + all the lackluster writing becomes even more obv when read by someone passable
- male narrator is fine but comparatively very good and does a good female voice and is good-ish at foreign words but definitely improves the writing by reading it well
- fmc is incredibly infantilised by making her super daft and uncultured😦
- mmc continuously claims to be morally superior yet does exactly what he denounces(eg sleeping with someone intoxicated) => if you want to write a morally good or ambiguous person then it actually has to be reflected in their behaviour and shouldn't be rape-y, thrive in relationships in which they have all the power due to financial codependence (before and while this story takes place), take advantage of sex workers,...
- the audacity to name the mmc after a saint😭him being on the path of priesthood is cool af but im confused why his chastity is pointed out at the end bc he pretty much admits in the beginning that he's a sex addict which she woudnt know but in this case its used to make him appear even more amazing
- mmc is extremely misogynistic and very male gaze-y -> lust is dehumanising and isn't love or respect
- the sex scenes are also stilted at points
- he's literally the kind of guy who dates teens when he's 20😧 + he stays friends with someone for years whos clearly not interested just in case she changes her mind...😧⁉️
- they make a point of criticising colonialism but poignantly defend monarchism💀
(- side point but this man literally comes from a French island and is explicitly called dark skinned but not bc he's actually in any way from a different ethnic background no he's just heavily tanned🫠 give this man some sunscreen if you can only commit to spicy white and cannot handle someone from an actual French island (which makes the whole monarchy thing even worse knowing a random white family is in power and somehow able to spend their extreme wealth however they please => you cannot claim that they aren't part of the 'bad' monarchy when all you write is how they corrupt and use their power in their favour solely bc they view themselves as superior and abuse that fact))
!!don't write politics if you can't write and aren't aware of politics you'll seem less educated and knowledgeable yourself!!
- an autistic side character is stripped of autonomy or capability and is passively talked about very ableistic
- the book replicates American centralism -> clearly for Americans who have never been to Paris or anywhere else

Another thing I'd just like to point out is that a few of the reviews rating this highly seem to be ingenious which might questions the morals of the author around possibly not marked as paid or sock puppet reviews
1. They sum up the story and add incorrect or completely new details to the story (so either they haven't read it or they clearly weren't interested enough to pay attention yet apparently view it as 5 star worthy)
2. In a few instances they mistake the mcs' names they're not having letter switch ups or smth but just straight up use completely other names
3. They just end mid sentence as if they didn't copy the whole reply from chatgbt😭
