A Touch of Malice by Scarlett St. Clair

2.0

I am now thoroughly convinced that St. Clair only wanted to write smut with gods and used this as an excuse. If that's your thing, have at it, but do not come here for plot you will not be getting any until the last 75 pages. The only redeeming quality is that Persephone's personality did a 180 and she's now instead of being an awful and toxic pick me, she's just a bland pick me. I don't have a lot else to say about this book considering 90% of the plot was saved for the last 75 pages so, read if you wanna I guess. I'm just hoping that the 4th book is the last in the series. I don't know how much more she can pull in.

TW: SA

As a side note: I felt like the plot line of Persephone’s SA was handled so terribly. She constantly tried to use sex to ignore her PTSD and never actually felt with her trauma. It was brought up multiple times that she needed to “change her ending to her nightmares” and “heal” but she never did anything to do either of those things. I just feel like the way it was discussed and handled was done so poorly and using something as delicate as SA as a plot point to further Persephone’s sexual relationship with Hades was gross.
