Thorns and Fire is book two in The Ashes of Thezmarr Series by Helen Scheuerer. This book picks right up where Iron and Embers left off and you’re guaranteed to be reading nonstop.

*Iron and Embers Spoilers Ahead - There are no spoilers for Thorns and Fire*

After severing their soul bond, Torj has set off with Wilder on a mission to find Queen Reyna and gather intel on the People’s Vanguard. Wren is left confused and deeply hurt by Torj’s sudden change of heart so she throws herself into the arduous task of duplicating her antidote to the dark alchemy employed by the People’s Vanguard. When their missions draw them back together emotions are high and Torj and Wren will soon discover that maybe their bond is far greater than either of them could have ever imagined.

Wow, Helen has done it again. She has managed to write a book ripe with politics, magic, and extremely steamy moments that will leave you in flames. If it’s at all possible the banter and tension between Torj and Wren is even better than in Iron and Embers. As expected this book is chock full of action and twists that you won’t see coming. The ending is absolute perfection and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

Thank you, Helen Scheuerer, for providing this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
