In a world of humans and devils, Denji and his pet devil dog, Pochita, work as devil hunters in order to pay off Denji’s late father’s debt to the yakuza. Denji has only ever known a life of poverty and dreams of a comfortable life with a girlfriend and jam to put on his bread. However, when he’s betrayed and killed, Pochita makes a contract with him and Denji becomes a half-devil, Chainsaw Man.
My heart went out for Denji. He may be a simple, fairly typical, shounen boy protagonist, but my heart went way out for him. He loves his dog. He’s hardworking. He doesn’t give up. He’s too trusting. His dream isn’t to make lots of money, but to live comfortably—I can 1000% relate to that.
I’m still worried for him even though he’s now with the public safety devil hunters. Has he just become a dog again for another group?
I’m interested in Power and I want to see more of her. I’m interested in where this volume ends. I’m definitely gonna read more!
