I have had this book for like 2 years and somehow am just reading it. I think it was alllll the buzz around Yours Truly and Just for the Summer that finally kicked me into gear to read this one, and oh man did I LOVE it!!! This had my feeling everything yall. I legit looked over at my husband when I was towards the end and was crying and said this book is just SOO good. He looked at me like I was crazy of course LOL. I absolutely loved Daniel and Alexis. I loved their meet cute. I loved their interactions. I loved how different they were but not at the same time. I loved how much they changed each other for the better, and how Daniel helped Alexis realize how truly privileged her life was and had always been. I loved how they ended up choosing each other- even though it was a bumpy ride, it was worth it.

Alexis is from a line of doctors. Her dad is a doctor. Her mom is a doctor. Her brother is a doctor. And now she of course is a doctor. And not only are they doctors but their family founded a hospital and there has ALWAYS been someone from their family as the chief of medicine. It seems to be that Alexis is next in line now that her brother literally moved to the other side of the world and fell in love. But is that really what she wants?

Daniel was born and raised in a small town. He knows ALL of the history. He works at the B&B that was his great-great-grandfather's house. History means something to him. He will most likely never leave but that all changes one night when he sees a car in a ditch on the side of the road. One thing leads to another and a bet makes him approach Alexis (who was the one in the car) at the town bar to see if she will go home with him, but not really. But then they end up having an amazing night together, and the next morning she is gone. Will he see her again?? He notices his hoodie is missing so maybe yes.

Now we are on this journey of discovery together. Alexis can be someone different in this small town. No one knows her or her family. There is no pressure. They are just normal people living their lives and none the wiser for it. Alexis finds herself wanting to come more than be at home with her ex who is now officially squatting and her parents who talk down to her like she has accomplished nothing in her life. Whereas Daniel shows her how to cook. How to clean. How to enjoy the small things. At first she resists, she says she can't do anything with him but then they cave. And it all comes crashing down when Alexis gets what has always wanted at work. But now that she has Daniel it seems that maybe her priorities have changed? Maybe she wanted things she didn't know she could have and all she has to do is make a stand.

Daniel had my heart this entire book. I loved and hated how he treated Alexis like a wounded animal. He always seemed to think he may not see her again so he made the absolute best out of every time he DID see her. He really helped change Alexis and man did she also change him. If you haven't picked this one up, I HIGHLY recommend that you do! I can't wait to read about Alexis's friend Bri in Yours Truly. Well done Abby-I will remember how this book made me feel for a while :)
