A tough read but I am glad I stuck it out.

I know a lot of people mention how unlikable Eleanor is in their reviews and frankly, that’s the entire point. This woman has gone through unspeakable trauma. With that understanding, it’s easier to see why she would act the way she does in the beginning of the novel.

I’m glad I did audio for this one. I think it helped to get through the dislike of Eleanor at first. This story has a lot to offer on the topics of trauma, and healing, and friendship. I would recommend it to folks who don’t mind an emotionally difficult read and love books that center on one characters experience with life, love and happiness (or a lack of it in this books case!).
