Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green, David Levithan
2.0

i'm having a tough time rating this book, it's not because it was written by two authors. the writing blended well together, and although i found one will more fun to read about than the other, it didn't have to do with the writing. however, there was not much to love about this book beyond the usual humor that john's books provide. other people might have liked the other will more, but I didn't.

the story is about two boys named will grayson who are both living in chicago, and their paths cross. the first Will is straight and has a gay best friend, a character that John Green has used in other books. the second will is gay and is initially depressed but becomes hopeful when he discovers he's going to meet his internet love, isaac. i didn't like most of the other characters except for Jane.

the plot was not exciting, and i didn't have the emotional reactions i usually have when reading john green's books. the book is called "will grayson, will grayson," but it's not about either will. It's mainly about tiny cooper, a self-centered, loud, and clichéd gay guy who stages a musical about himself. the musical scene at the end was just plain silly.

sorry guys but it's not a book i would recommend.
