They Fell from the Sky by Chris Sanchez, Liezl Buenaventura

This has some of my favorite things in MG stories: a geeky kid called Tommy who’s into sci-fi stories and who unfortunately gets bullied at school so, he kinda wants something different for himself. He believes in heroes and despite his limitations, he will try to become one.
So when an animal-like alien ship crashes near him, he helps the wounded creature and brings him home for the time being. Later on, and thanks to a device that roughly translate his words, Orion, the animal-like alien, tells him they all might be in danger of an invasion ‘cause his kin is looking for him –the rebels want to kill him and the royals want to get him back since he ran away.
Now, I know this might sound familiar to hard core sci-fi fans but I really liked the friendship between the characters, and how organic their dynamic felt. The art is quite unique and to me this is a perfect Middle Grade comic everybody should read!
I would totally recommend you to read it and I’d be glad to know more of the authors’ works in the future!
