Here is a book with a lot of promise, that simply fails to deliver. There was not a single moment in this book where I cared about the characters or even about the answers to the various mysteries Holmes was solving. That is saying a lot - I am typically the type of reader who ponders the plot and characters every moment away from a book, and I did not think about this book even once when I wasn't reading it. Disappointing.
