The Overstory by Richard Powers

Did not finish book. Stopped at 18%.
Overt racism in the way the characters of color are written. Heavily adheres to stereotyping. The characterization of the Indian character is so poorly written. The Hindu religious aspect is blatantly incorrect which is astounding considering Powers’ obvious capabilities in regards to research. Upsetting that this book is marketed so heavily as a humanist nature story when he treats his POC characters so poorly.  Much of this could’ve been avoided with more research and sensitivity readers.
