The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
by C.S. Lewis
This one is one of my favorites so far. I saw the movie first, but it seems to have remained true to the book. Weirdly enough, if anything, I feel like the book is more condensed then the movie is. However I do like that aspect of Lewis' writing. He does not concern himself with fluff. He flat out said that Edmund and the witch where driving on for hour but he's not going to talk about that because it would get boring. I respect that he doesn't want to waste anyone's time and still gives us a beautiful story.
