I was wavering between three and four stars on this one. Ultimately, I went with three stars mainly due to how dense and sometimes repetitive the story is. While I agree with the other reviewers that this book is wonderful for shedding light on an aspect of history that is incredibly horrifying, it covers so many women that it can be hard to keep everyone straight and the telling of each woman's problems got repetitive. All in all, a great book. It's one that I had to keep putting down to process how I felt for these women and how they suffered, just to pick it right back up and keep going.
