It was not as thrilling as I had expected. There was a lot of explicit explaining of some ideologies and driving interrogations of the characters as opposed to actually showing these in the plot. The strongest point of 'The Body Lies' is how readers are faced with the complexities of sexual assault and consent in showing how "giving up is not consent" as stated by one of the characters.
