This was an emotional book to listen to. It is a tough read but an important one as well. "Of Women and Salt" talks about topics such as addiction, domestic abuse, immigration, and the struggles of the women in this specific family.
The ending was sad, which was to be expected, but also a bit hopeful. I'm not sure what to feel about it. I wished I could have gotten more chapters from Carmen and more from Jeanette.
The writing is very poetic and I found out the author loves poetry and creating poems, so that makes sense. The conversation at the end of the audiobook with Roxanne Gay is super worthwhile.
