Dark Celebration by Christine Feehan
2.0
Dark Celebration was designed to sit apart from the rest of the series with the 'Chirstmas catch up' theme, and I didn't totally connect with it. It does provide a good summary of the couples' progress up to this point and it emphasises the connections between the books as we see the relationships they have formed outside those found within their specified book. With this purpose however, the reflection into everyday life (aside from the occasional new drama with Sklyer and Razvan) seemed a little less satisfying. Also, the inclusion of all the recipes that the Carpathians used for Chirstmas dinner seemed a little out of place... So I would say that the novel is quite light-hearted, and lacks the depth of other books in the series.
