I didn’t expect to be fully immersed  like I was. There’s extensive world building and war and heartbreaking sadness which is not something that I typically like to read. I wanted Rin and Altan and Kitay and the Nikan to win. It left me feeling like what the hell are they fighting for?! Is it ever worth it?
