Hold Tight by Harlan Coben

4.0

My first Harlan Coben book, and it was well worth the wait. I listened to the audiobook, and spent much time in parking lots and my own driveway, because I couldn't bear to turn off the car in the middle of a great scene. The story revolves around so many things- parents' relationships with their children, with each other, teen suicide and prescription drug use, and so many other things I can't even put them here. I really enjoyed the fact that as the story went on, my feelings towards the characters changed, and as you grow to know these people better (as the narration is done through the eyes of many of the characters at different points in the story), you understand just how complicated the choices they make and the consequences really are.

The audio was also well done, although I couldn't shake the fact that the narrator sounded exactly like Willem Dafoe to me.
