A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

4.0

3.5ish rounded up

Definitely didn't hit as hard as the first book. While not /bad/ it absolutely could have been 200pgs shorter. I get Poppys lack of experience + romantic betrayal would cause a myriad of emotional trauma and doubt about her own feelings AND Cas', but the back-and-forth was still strung out a little too long and did get repetitive near the end.

However, both Poppy and Cas got some character growth in; the action scenes were great and decently spaced out and there was no character-back-peddling, so it was still okay. Could have been better, but.

I still don't trust Alistair.
