The Fireman by Joe Hill

It took me longer to slog through this book than I might have guessed it would at the outset. Interesting premise, but I think I've maybe grown a bit weary of the post-apocalyptic novel, and this one wasn't as well-written as The Stand or Station Eleven, to name a few, making some of the "protagonist is in big trouble, seems to find relief, but actually lands in even bigger trouble" pattern of the novel grow a bit tedious.
