When I first read this book, I tried to find a deeper meaning other than rape, animal abuse, and poop. This was the kind of book you read and don’t want to pick up another one for a while. On a gross out scale I would say this is the worst one I’ve read. I was NOT expecting some of the things in this book even after hearing a couple spoilers. Truly the kind of book that never leaves your mind. That being said, I do think there’s a deeper meaning to this book whether intentional or not. The pacing was good, and even though I hated all the characters in some ways you feel bad for them (some of them at least) because you do grow up a product of your environment. This was packed with a lot of disgusting/disturbing things and I can’t necessarily say I would recommend it unless you have a very strong stomach.
