J is for Judgment by Sue Grafton

This one has some heft to it, and the ambiguity of the ending is nice. The way the murderer set the scene didn't sound plausible to me.
Why, oh why, do the characters in these books trust Kinsey when she says, "Trust me, I'm just the investigator." And why, oh why, is Kinsey not more forthcoming with the cops, although they seem to trust her a lot.
I admit reading this book made me want fast food. The ownership of a boat with its own private pier drove home the wealth of Renata and Wendall more than any description could have. Mac acted so weird that I expected him to be part of it. I enjoyed Kinsey's introspection regarding her family and could have used more of it.
