This book was dark and creepy. The prologue had me feeling intrigued. The suspense and tension that was built up was so good. I kept feeling like something explosive was going to happen at any moment. I couldn’t wait to see how it would all turn out. The part that lost me was Dan’s imaginary conversations with his dad and the little boy. I didn’t enjoy that element at all. The big reveal of the villain was interesting, but the outcome almost felt too convenient. It was a bit anticlimactic for me. Despite those issues, it was a very engaging read.
