I purchased the special edition Fairyloot Serpent and Dove because everyone was raving about how good it was. Then as time ticked on I started to see more people debating it.
Lou is a witch and Reid is an Chasseur, a witch hunter if you will. An unlikely couple if you ever did see one. It felt like a fantasy Romeo and Juliet.
I liked the dynamic between the two characters which is the bulk of the book essentially. Lou is full of witty one liners and Reid is perfecting the brooding protector. That being said I was expecting it to be more fantasy. It was even such a gap between these elements that I think I’ve missed the point of the main plot twist.
I liked it but I can’t say I loved it!
