Moby-Dick: Or, the Whale
by Herman Melville
It is very interesting and well written, but the pacing of the book mirrors a Whaling voyage. Long stretches of time devoted to the technicalities and logistics concerning whales and their hunters, all the while rolling over an endless sea of existential pondering. Until, the book explodes into violence when a whale is seen, and battle commences.
10/10 would slaughter dozens of innocent creatures with the capacity for love, care and empathy again.
