Keeping Promise Rock by Amy Lane

5.0

I picked this book of the M/M romamce group...it was good, I liked the love story, but also really liked the secondary characters...they are really strong and loving...but also struggling...seriously struggling, they never give up on each other and say the truth even when it's really hard. Deacon and Crick seriously broke my heart they were so adorable...have bought the second one in the series and will surely ge the third one when it comes out.

I'm not sure what happened to me with book this time...but I could not stop crying. I loved this book when I first read it, but I think I missed so much. Crick and Deacon are two incredibly moving characters SO FLAWED, SO PERFECT...I suffered deeply for this to me for their losses, the hardships of growing up too fast, the hurt that they brought unto to themselves and each other...but the constancy and unrelenting certainty that they were each other's to hold...so good. Deacon represents faithfulness and strength in all the ways that are obvious and he is such a force...but I think Crick is too, for a boy who never knew love from those who were supposed to give it to him unconditionally I found it so brave that he could love Deacon so deeply, so long and with so much faith that he would eventually be loved back.

My frustration and anger at all the hiding Crick and Deacon had to do while Crick was in Iraq...how unfair and cruel that men who are putting their lives at risk cannot openly say I love you to the men they love.

This book is about family and strength in love...So very excellent.
