The most immersive book I’ve read this year and easily one of my favorites! I keep hovering between 4.75 and 5 stars (I feel like I need to read more in this genre to properly assess). Naturally, this story was devastating. So I knew a little bit about Achilles and Patroclus but not much. I did NOT know that P died first and that killed me inside to watch A’s descent from there. To watch his grief and also P narrating from the afterlife?? Insane, in the best way. I didn’t know what to do with myself afterwards so I cried for a while then called a friend. Due to my mental stability, I’m looking for another book to wreck me. I would ask for recommendations but my TBR is 700+ books long so I’m sure I’ll find something.
