I love these characters but I’m not certain I love the direction this book took.
This was a real win for Steris fans everywhere. Her character is one of my favorites, and I loved her in this book. I like that she has her strengths and recognizes them. Wayne also has his moments and there were a couple scenes that generally made me laugh. Wax also continues to carry the book as a fantastic main character.
I don’t know if I loved the jump between more local world building to the big, world-altering plot we got introduced to here. It was kind of cool but also a drastic shift from what I had come to expect out of these novels. Also maybe I missed stuff, but the connections seemed to be out of left field for me. I’ll keep reading cause I want to see how everything fits together.
