📌“What are you doing?”
“You like me.”
“I do not.”
“What are you, five?”
“… You’re not the bad guy you want people to think you are.”

Have I ever told you I would be a profiler if raised in the U.S.? I’m sure I’ll tell you again at some point 😜 But this isn’t about me. This isn’t about Roan neither because who?! 👀 joking! I’ll forever adore Roan and Aspen 🥹

This is about Fragile Sanctuary, my most anticipated read of the year and now a new favorite. I’m always equal parts excited and scared to read these kind of books. You wish for them for so long, so intensely that there’s always a kernel of fear they will not live up to the incredibly high expectations.

But Catherine Cowles once again proved (even if she has nothing to prove; she’s the queen) why she’s a master of romantic suspense and small town affairs. This had my FAVORITE suspense! Hands down, impossible to guess while holding on to my seat for dear life. And it was not “oh let me make it twisty just to prove a point” kind of mystery. It was a “oh my God, I can’t believe I missed all these crumbs. It was there all along and I had no idea” kind of suspense.

But I’m a romance girlie. This wouldn’t be a new favorite if the romance didn’t get me all bothered and swooning 😜 Anson and Rhodes were a fire waiting to ignite since the moment he yelled at her 😏 And yet, it was their little quiet moments, stolen glances, and stares full of vulnerability and longing that had me eating out of their hands. That and the dog. And the kitties. 🥹
