After reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and currently being on a YA kick I decided to revisit this series since I haven't read them since middle school. And damn this book is awesome the writing style is excellent it does not read like it was written with a younger audience in mind while remaining appropriate for those younger readers. The themes and plot are well-crafted and powerful. I thought it ended at a weird point but it's a trilogy so that's forgivable. Excited to reread the rest of the series!
