Little White Lies by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

this book suffers SUFFERS from its passive writing style. it’s action packed but the scenes skip over them or cut off and the characters recount those moments later. it feels lazy. and it’s passive. and boring. for a book with a mystery father, a coma induced car crash, a fake pregnancy, theft, a kidnapping, and MORE it should have been exciting. instead on page 223, i wrote “BORING! snooze fest”. the final chapters ramp up in excitement but still sometimes suffer from the passive style. like even the big dad reveal is told in passing hours later it’s like AND SHE DOESNT TALK ABOUT HOW THAT CONVO WENT AT ALL!!!
EDIT:: I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THIS AUTHOR ALSO I DONT THINK SHE PLANNED WELL ENOGUH ITS LIKE OH YEAH I FORGOT THIS MAJOR PLOT POINT LET ME CATCH YOU UP TO SPEED THEN A PAGE OF NOTHING THEN THAT PLOT POINT PROGRESSES ITS LIKE SHE JUST WRITES WHATEVER COMES TO MIND IN THAT MOMENT THERE IS NO COMPLEXITY THE EVENTS ARE SO SEPERATE
