For She is Wrath is a book full of heart and hurt.
What would you do if your best friend - the boy you love - framed you for murder, sending you to prison to be beaten and tortured? What would you do when you, after a year of failed escapes, finally found freedom from that prison? Dania, along with her new friend and fellow escapee, go in search for hidden djinn magic to exact revenge on all that wronged them, everyone responsible for landing them in their current situation.
Hurt and heartbreak can change someone; the need for revenge can blacken a soul and turn someone with once good intentions into a monster. Dania has to reckon with this truth and decide if she is going to give in to the ever-consuming need for exacting revenge or will she stop herself before she becomes something else entirely.
This was another book that I am, once again, angry at myself for putting off until now. I really like Dania and Nor. I appreciate that both of their hurt was raw, the heartbreak bringing about very real emotions and want for someone else to hurt like they have. I appreciate that with both girls we have different feelings on how the revenge is exacted. Great read overall.
