This book didn’t have as much going on as the first one. Because of Six Scorched Roses I thought Vale and Lilith would be more present in this book, but they weren’t very involved for most of the story.
I appreciated the answers to questions I had throughout reading the duology and loved the focus on character development in this book.
Something I felt that was lacking in this book compared to the War of Lost Hearts series was that complexity of the villain.
Overall a good book that left me wrecked at some parts. Carissa Broadbent is a great author, excited to read more of her books!
