I really enjoyed this! I initially did not have Finlay Donovan on my radar, but the bookclub at my local library chose this as this month's read. I'm so glad they did because this was so much fun to read.

I wasn't expecting much going into this, but from the first page I was hooked into Finlay Donovan's world. A newly single mother after discovering her ex-husband's cheating, Finlay is a struggling author who is drowning in debt and is in the middle of an ugly custody battle.

After meeting her agent in a Panera, a random woman slips Finlay a note and disappears. The note is a contract: kill the woman's husband and receive 50,000 dollars.

What ensues is murder, mystery, and a whole lot of laugh out loud moments. I found Finlay to be a relatable character in many aspects, and although I can't say that I would make the same choices she did, it all made for a highly entertaining read. The plot twists in this were nicely done, and all the characters felt fleshed out and stood out on page.

The ending really peaked my curiosity, and I can't wait to get to book 2.
