First of all, I appreciate the content warning at the start of this book because this book sure needed it. Tell Me I'm Worthless was dark and uncomfortable. It was an examination of society, and society is bleak looking.

However, the writing style was not for me. Alison Rumfitt's writing was very depressing, a little too depressing. You can tell she takes influence from Shirley Jackson in her writing. However, Rumfitt didn't have that claustrophobic feeling in her writing, which I like in a haunted house type story. Unfortunately, that depressive writing style just wasn't for me.
