This book really felt like fan service. It was just a re-hash of so much we already know from the hunger games. And I know the books have always been about kids but I just found it so unbelievable that Haymitch was that in love with Lenore at 16. There was obviously A LOT of characters to keep track of, many of which had minimal impact on the story.
About 70% of the book focused on the reaping/games when I feel that the more interesting storyline would’ve been Haymitch after the games.
Overall, I’m excited for the movie and would recommend the book, but it wasn’t my favorite.
