Aunt Dimity and the King's Ransom by Nancy Atherton

4.0

This was a fun entry -- Lori is pushed out of Finch and away from her family, so I'm not constantly baffled by the high esteem everyone has for her (she's a bit of a dingus). Instead she prowls around an old inn and comes up with a suspect who is actually a bad guy. I mean, he didn't do any of the stuff he thinks he did, but she's has at least identified someone who's not the pillar of his community this time. Well done!

I sound snarky but it's with love -- I've been here for all 23 books. These are now a cosy sweater to snuggle into. It did exactly what it promised, and did it well.
