I decided to read this as I enjoy the interview format when I'm in a bit of a reading rut, Daisy Jones & the Six kickstarted a lot of reading for me last year. This was an easy to read story and I liked the premise. It wasn't bad by any means I just felt the characters were a bit caricature-y and all of the women in the story except the shallow character were 'troubled women' who's actions were often motivated by men or were victims of men. I know this is a reality for many women but it was not explored in any sort of nuanced way. I don't usually read books written by men and felt I was very aware of this fact. I liked hearing from Evelyn the 'author' during the progression of the book but the ending felt abrupt and the insertion of Joseph Knox as a character was unwelcome.
