I'm cheating and counting 3 books from this series under 1 review.

Ancient Protector
Star is a world-famous singer and also a secret, elusive phoenix shifter with a past life where she almost mated with Scottish dragon laird, Lachlan. Now, he's awake from hibernation and ready to mate his long-lost woman no matter what. I enjoyed this one the same as AE because the stakes felt higher (rescuing Star's sister) and the found family dynamics with the band/crew were fun. Plus, New Orleans is also a great paranormal setting.

Ancient Enemy
Rhys has spent millennia chasing after the witch who murdered his sister in a blood magic ritual for immortality. Dallas is that witch's daughter - a kind and goodhearted witch who just likes to grow things and play with her pet dragon (the whole pet dragon thing was weird since the men are dragon shifters). I liked the dual tension of Dallas thinking Rhys will reject her for her parentage and Rhys having to decide if Dallas matters more than vengeance, but otherwise this was forgettable.

Ancient Vengeance
I love an enamored and emotionally stunted (and virgin!) MMC. This one had Alpha Night vibes (but not nearly as good). Although Rhodes was an assassin turned simp from the first moment, Stella wasn't interesting to me and the plot was completely flat otherwise.
