This book started out so well. I expected a light, fluffy romance about an introverted bookworm and her cat and that's what I got for the most part. I enjoyed Nina, I enjoyed the family drama part. Granted, all these characters are rather one-dimensional, and how literally *everyone* discovered some similarities with Nina was a bit too much. And how that Mother from the book club invited her to the wedding, well, that was just lazy plot. But oh well. I was on board.

However, then there is Tom. I liked Tom, until he turns out to be the most toxic person.
Even without the anxiety attack, if somebody asks to be alone, you leave them alone, g'damn! Especially if you have been dating for like two days. And when you see someone is feeling really unwell and you feel "thrown under the bus" (which, if you consider this throwing somebody under the bus, well, you must have had it easy in your life), just don't ghost them! What's wrong with you?
I was so disappointed by the ending. Couldn't car guy be twenty years younger and teach Nina a bit more about driving stick?

Phil saved the third star.
