'Have you heard of the Ifarl rhyme, "The Night of Legends?"'

if you are interested in reading a short action-filled fantasy novel, then this one is definitely for you!

A couple of pages in and I am already intrigued because of the descriptive writing. It felt like I was there with the characters, witnessing the reawakening of Keix. Keix wakes up in an underground prison with partial memory loss. Her friends rescue her and tell her that she has been imprisoned and in a coma for about two years. The organization that she worked for is her captor.

I would recommend you to not read the book description because it contains spoilers.

This book is a short, fast-paced, and action-filled read. With only 250 pages, this fantasy novel is filled with thrilling action scenes that got me on the edge of my seat (especially around page 200.) It is also fast-paced because we're not dwelling on how Keix regained her memory because she is part Kulcan, a fierce race of warriors (which helps her healed quickly, she is awesome af!!!) and so we dive right into what happens next, who should she trust, and so on. The world-building was a little bit confusing, I had to reread and flipped back to understand what's going on. The plot itself is engaging, fun, and video game-like which is awesome.

Unfortunately, Keix and Zej, the main characters weren't that interesting to me. They feel empty because they were portrayed as "fighters" rather than well, the main characters. The other characters like Pod, Maii, and Dace were given more personality and depth. Pod and Maii is sooo adorable and Dace is too precious for this world (for that world as well.)

There are some cliché/unnecessary dialogues like “you’re not getting away so easily." Towards the end, there is a scene where Keix explained how disappointed/mad she was at the villains and then the villains explain their plans to her. Ummm????

I still have mixed feelings about the ending. I don't hate it but it was underwhelming. It felt weird how forgiving Keix was under the circumstances she was in. maybe it's her personality or maybe she understood the circumstances others are in. I'm still interested to see what happens next and to see more of Keix and Zej too <3

so if you are interested in reading a short action-filled fantasy novel, then this one is definitely for you! if you're a fan of the illuminae series or ghostbusters, then you might want to give this book a try!
