Everyone in this book was so immature. Everyone in the book took for granted that of course male athletes will treat women like disposable tissues, and they were a-okay with that. Everyone was weirdly eager to forgive the terrible ex-boyfriend (who was not an ex but rather an actual boyfriend for an unpleasantly long portion of the book), up until the very final showdown. The FMC’s parental issues were solved unrealistically quickly simply because the MMC told them to do better, and the MMC’s issues seemed to just evaporate when he clearly needed some individual therapy and grief counseling. He also came on to the FMC so aggressively in the early portion of the book that it gave me the creeps, even when she was still dating his supposed “best friend” (that he never seemed to like). Overall, this felt like an AITA post where the clear answer is ESH.
