I've enjoyed Holiday's output to this point, but found this a stretch too far in the the formula. The search for vignettes felt tired and is perhaps running out of steam. This could also be exacerbated by the lack of balance on coverage of British figures. Very easy to disguise a choice to not intervene as temperance or to explore an individual's stoic nature without discussing their misgivings - Holiday does not leave these gaps in his commentary on ancient figures...perhaps to avoid controversy and maintain his audience.
