Stay Sexy and Don't Get Murdered by Karen Kilgariff, Georgia Hardstark

dark emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring lighthearted reflective sad tense medium-paced

A number of people recommend the My Favorite Murder Podcast to me before I eventually jumped on the bandwagon sometime around 2018 I believe it was. In my anally retentive ways I had to go back to the first episode and start there, but it wasn’t long before I was hooked. I’ve long been a horror movie fan, and while I don’t remember when my interest in True Crime started, I can see it being a natural progression from slasher horror to real life horrors. MFM and I were never NOT going to be a good fit, so in all honesty I don’t know why it took me so long to delve in. The same with this book that I’ve had for a number of years (the physical book too) but never got around to reading. Then eventually when I got my audible subscription and found out that the ladies read it to you, I thought what the hell, it’s just like a longer version of my favourite podcast. What I wasn’t expecting was that complete gut punch at the end in Georgia’s F*cking Hooray chapter. I just didn’t expect this book to make me cry, which is stupid because the podcast makes me cry all the time. I love these ladies and the community they helped to create. Stay sexy and don’t get murdered you guys.
