le Carrè’s portrayal of love is maybe my favourite thing in this book. George’s relationship with his wife is so integral to everything he does and then you have lots of other relationships like Jim and Bill, Tarr and Irina, Peter and Camilla that are really key to understanding the book and are frankly presented quite beautifully. I’m very much looking forward to reading more of le Carrè’s work !!
