The Orphan Keeper
by Camron Wright
I am a little torn on this one - I liked it, but for some reason it took me a long time to get through it. I don't know if it was the writing or just because I don't have a lot of time, but it wasn't one I was anxious to pick up. I do think it was miraculous the way he found his family and incredibly sad that he was taken from them. But it was clean and inspiring.
Possible spoilers below:
But I was also a little confused at times - why did he move out of his house during high school and seem angry with his parents? It never really explained that. And why did it take so many years to get back to India when he realized the connections that could help him find his family? I would think that would be a little more of a priority??? But I also realize I am not one to judge as I have never had those experiences. I also am confused by if some of his childhood experiences were real or just made up - for instance the way he was taken or the girl in the orphanage. Wanted a little more clarification on things.
