It's always sad to say goodbye to a character series that you've been living in, and seeing the guys of The Nest all find their happy endings was a little bitter sweet... though I know I am happily following into the next series.
📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Mr. Charming by Piper Rayne
📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: The Nest character series. Book 4.
📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book ARC on Kindle. 🆓️ on KU.
📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Sports romance
📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Second chance, will-they-or-wont-they, fate, all the feels.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Tweetie has turned himself into the team's hopeless bachelor, but no one knows its because he's holding out hope that the only girl he's ever loved, Tedi, will come back into his life. When Tedi gets the chance of a lifetime to manage a national campaign featuring Tweetie's team, he can't help but see it as the universe stepping in.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: If you like those slightly toxic push-and-pull romances, this one is for you.
The entire Nest series has been a really fun ride. Low angst overall, a lot of found family vibes, some solid hockey content. I've enjoyed every book - the first two I listened to on Hoopla and absolutely devoured, and the last two I have read off of my Kindle.
Mr. Charming, though was an emotional finish. There's that toxicity that we love to read about, but would (probably) never allow in our real lives. The book goes into some of the more emotional parts of Tweetie and Tedi's failed first attempt, and it's hard not to get swept up in their story. My only quip is I would have liked a bit more of that - the writing duo tackled the flashbacks in journal entries, and I kind of wanted to dive into it a bit more.
But the coming together? It was kind of perfect. I'm sad to see the guys of The Nest go - we got the brother's former teammate who was "just hooking up," the childhood ex-lovers finally returning home, the cute goalie who interrupted a wedding for his girl and finally, the forever bachelor reconnecting with his true love. It was a great lineup!
