This book wanted to be three different books and only one of them was good. I love a straight up romance, but there was way too much heavy subject matter for this to be that. I’m all for lit fic that explores the gritty stuff, but this never quite got there either. I found the whole premise of the main characters being soul mates who met when they were 17 for one week to be pretty weak, I found Audrey VERY annoying, and I absolutely HATED that

a 13 year old kid got killed off as a third act breakup plot device with that was completely blown past almost immediately.
