I absolutely adored the first book, Jackaby. However, Beastly Bones just didn't conjure the same magic and love as I found with abundance in Jackaby. This book was less about Rook and Jackaby and more about other characters whom I did not find very interesting or compelling in any way. It also didn't take place in the city of their residence and thus Jenny wasn't in the book much. A lot of the fun and uniqueness just wasn't here for me this time around. That being said, I love William Ritter's work (so of course I really liked this book) and am so unbelievably excited for his next book in the series!
