The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows

5.0

I absolutely adored this book. There were twists that I never saw coming. My heart broke for so many of the characters because they were dealing with incredibly difficult, and often relatable circumstances. Dealing with a polluted and dangerous world is not easy when you're also surrounded by vengeful politicians. Sometimes I felt as if I were in portions of Anne McCaffrey or Frank Herbert (seriously, the politics were that good!) Jodi has pulled flavors and influences from many places, authors, and genre's to weave together this beautiful story.

Wil is wonderfully complex. The way she deals with mistakes, self-doubt, and relationship conflict are so very human. She's far from perfect and it makes her incredibly real. I'll be recommending this book to friends for years to come.
