Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

Did not finish book. Stopped at 5%.
The writing in this book is excellent but it is not for me. I have lived the misogynistic jokes at work (and being mistaken for support staff), the sexual assaults at professional gatherings, the deep lack of fulfillment in mothering as society expects (as well as delved into Betty Friedan's explorations of the same), supporting neurodivergent children in a world not built for them and I have scores of friends who have vented to me through the decades about the very same things. I'm sure dinner with Garmus would be fantastically fun and I am delighted that she is part of the fight to pull back the cover on this this stuff: to bring it into the open, name it, and shed light on it so that we may continue to build a better world. As I am already a comrade in arms to Ms. Garmus, I prefer to wrap myself in the warm fuzzy blankets provided by the likes of Ali Hazelwood in my off hours for a solid, less pointedly knowing giggle and to recharge my sense of hope.
